These sensory toys and record player will continue to enhance the focus- centered classroom that I strive to create. The planning center is a place that my students learn problem- solving techniques, social emotional learning strategies, and conflict resolution skills. The room is set up in three areas the first area is problem- based, the second is the de-stress area, lastly it is the conflict resolution area. Every sensory toy area that is placed in the de-stress area, and conflict resolution area is treated with love and care, and they are thankful. All of these sensory toys have been chosen with my students in mind-I have watched them last school term come into the planning center stressed, frustrated, or need to talk and they would calm down once they pick up any of the sensory toys. Students will be able to choose a sensory toys, and listen to calming music, which will help them continue to work on their strategies while placed in the planning center.
