Virtual learning is difficult for any middle schooler, however disadvantaged students like many of mine are struggling to engage and perform for virtual learning. The learning platforms we are using are not very user-friendly even for adults, so the high population of ELL and SpEd students that I serve struggle even more. Many would rather do nothing than try figuring out how to make sense of the learning platforms just so they can submit assignments. With Nearpod, I can provide engaging lessons that are interactive for students. This will not only increase the work completion and performance for students, but it will also allow me to give more immediate feedback about their performance.
