With Chromebooks in our classroom, students will have access to resources that will support them in their journey to build literacy skills and become lovers of reading. Everyday, during our language arts block, students work in differentiated small groups and focus on specific skills. Kindergarteners will be able to use touchscreen Chromebooks in these small groups to access individualized programs and resources such as Boom Cards and Lexia to practice a wide variety of phonics and phonemic awareness skills. The Chromebooks can also be used to provide academic interventions for students who are struggling and as a means to progress monitor specific skills. The support my students will receive while using these Chromebooks will be be invaluable.
