I provide assistance throughout our school district with evaluating students with complex communication needs. We currently have a lack of technology needed to assess and provide services to our most complex communicators. Complex communicators need access to communication systems allowing them to not only get their wants and needs met, but also allowing them to express their thoughts, feelings, and knowledge. The donations to this project will provide students with complex communication needs the opportunity to find their voice. Having a dedicated iPad with communication apps that can be used during the evaluation process would help determine the best mode of communication for students. At this time, we do not have an iPad that has communication apps for us to trial with students. This will help us truly determine the best fit for students!
