Many of the students in my classroom have difficulties learning and many have diagnosed ADHD. Moving around in the classroom allows the students to have a variety of places to sit while continuing to be engaged in what we are covering in class. Many kids that have ADHA find that being able to move around is a better way for them to learn. As a teacher, I have witnessed how alternative seating has helped many students in academics. The lap boards are a great way for students to sit in various areas of the classroom and still have a hard surface to write. When we allow students to move, it helps them actively listen. Bright colored markers attract attention from the kids and we use them so much for anchor charts in the classroom.
