Our students in Special Education require adaptive furniture to keep their bodies moving while their brains are working. The chairs we plan to use in two classrooms will provide this necessary movement. The chairs we have now are uncomfortable and these new chairs will allow children to safely rock in their seats. Currently, students are pushing on their desks to rock back, also disrupting others at the desk. Other items help calm students with anxiety or sensitivity. Compression vests and light filters will help students calm their minds during lessons.
