Studies show when students eat breakfast they are able to stay focus in class. The students I serve are currently facing challenges with homelessness, and coming from different environments. Having brain snacks allows my students to take charge of their learning and help keep them to stay focus. During independent work times, they choose a snack in the classroom that works for them. Currently, my students eat a variety of snacks that I currently provide at different tables. Making sure my students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a snack throughout the day. They almost, are more engaged and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk eating.
