Many people do not realize that a teacher does more for a student than give them knowledge on a specific subject. A good teacher supplies their students love and kindness. Being at an at-risk school I have students that live in foster homes, group homes, or even vehicles. I have always prided myself on being that teacher that every student wished they had or being their favorite teacher. I always have water and food in my room for students who have missed breakfast, lunch or just did not have food in their homes. When a student has a full stomach they focus better in class. If I am that teacher that can provide this for any student then I have done my job. Sometimes it is the smallest gesture that makes the largest impact. I am a teacher that believes students need to work and learn together. I use white board in stead of paper (saves trees) so the students will use a dry erase markers instead of pencils. We then clean the boards with the white board towelettes. Having create work for them also stimulates their brain cells and that is why I purchase many assignments of teachers pay teachers. It is a great resource for out of the box thinking assignments. It takes a village
