Doodle Notes are an amazing way to increase student focus, increase material retention, take ownership of the material, and increase mental connections. This type of note taking keeps various types of learners engaged and actively learning. The science behind this type of activity says that it bridges the gap between linguistic and graphic learning and maximizes the use of both the left and right hemispheres of the brain. When both hemispheres are actively engaged in learning, the materials being presented become more likely to be stored as a long term memory. It also appears to relax the learning environment even for difficult concepts. Learners of all types are less intimidated by materials that include cartoons and it can be colored on.
