Having these materials would improve the learning experience for the students exponentially. Here at our school, the Mustangs have an amazing drive to cultivate better lifestyles through fitness and wellness. I titled the project "Imagine A Mustang With no Muscle" because unfortunately, our fitness center is in disrepair. As we focus on fitness for the betterment of each student's mind and body while dealing with a pandemic, the fitness center can be a place to safely exercise within physically distanced guidelines. With this project, we are striving to build an environment with multi-use, adaptive stations conducive to the education and athletic setting. Unfortunately in our current situation, nearly everything is broken or unsafe for student use, and space itself is dysfunctional, filled with bulky, dated single muscle machines that essentially take up space. Through the promotion of physical activity and skill development in physical education, students strive to implement habitual, health-focused tendencies with the goal of improving total body wellness and quality of life. Our hope is that soon, students will be able to utilize a variety of mechanisms to determine their current fitness level, while discovering practices to improve that level, in both the short and long term.
