These books will help my students experience a new genre and learn more about history and the world around them. Books are not only an opportunity to learn, but an escape from the world around us. Students will be using these books to participate in literature circles and share their reading experience with others in the classroom. They will be studying the genre and discussing the themes and ideas contained in the books. In addition, students will research the topics and/or history behind the "story" for added learning. This gift will impact my classroom for years to come.
