For my first DonorsChoose project, I am asking for three things: 1, a gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers, 2, a monitor screen to connect to a laptop, and 3, a printer/scanner that is compatible with the district laptop. My first request will impact my students the most. A gift card to Teachers Pay Teachers will help me immensely in creating lesson plans around social-emotional learning. Our district is completely virtual right now and will be at least through winter break. With that being said, the typical workbook activities I have are next to useless since I cannot pass them out to students. A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to expand my virtual content and find more engaging activities to be able to do online with students. With no end in sight for our current virtual setting, I feel like I am struggling and reaching every week to create new lessons that will hold the interest of my students that are learning from home. My second and third requests will help me in doing some of the more clerical parts of my job. When I am Zooming with students during sessions and "sharing my screen" I typically cannot see both Zoom and the activity I am sharing at the same time. A monitor screen would allow me to have two screens; one where I can see the kids on Zoom and another where I can pull up and toggle through the lesson. As for the printer/scanner, I am asking for this because I do not have my own printer at home. When I am doing assessments they are oftentimes confidential and it makes me uncomfortable having to email some who is at school to print/scan these for me. Any help is truly appreciated!
