Adding socially diverse books to my classroom collection will provide an opportunity for my middle school students to learn and become more social aware of the cultures, traditions and struggles that are experienced by people of different ethnic and racial backgrounds. My current classroom library could use some new and exciting books to spice up the collection. By adding social diverse books to the collection this will accomplish two goals I have, one to provide more socially diverse books to my students and two to spruce up the collection and offer new books to read.
