Each day at preschool students have some time to rest and relax after lunch. It is a great time for them to take a breath and zone out for a little while, look at a book, or watch a video. Students are allowed to bring a small blanket or towel from home to use at rest time, but with our COVID guidelines we need to keep them separated, which proves challenging with limited space. We have been able to have students keep them in their locker areas until now, but with boots and snow gear coming to school we no longer have the space. We would love to have a shelf where each student could enhance their independence by using their own cubby to keep their rest time items, and at the same time keep them all separated, so no germs will be shared! This piece of furnishing would also be a great tool for our students to work on recognizing their name. They would need to find their cubby spot each day to get their blankets, and then return them to their same spot after they are done resting.
