I currently teach about 40 middle school students in my string orchestra throughout grades 6th-8th. These students are all advancing their playing skills on a stringed instrument such as violin, viola, cello and bass. One of the biggests challenges to play a stringed instrument is learning how to tune them. With these clip-on tuners, my students will be able to feel more confident in tuning their own instruments. These tuners will clip onto their instrument indicate if each string is in-tune or out-of-tune and the students can adjust their string to match the correct pitch. They will be used every day in my class by students as their instruments need to be tuned daily.
