First, take a second to think back to any first day of school in elementary. One thing you may (or may not have) thought of was how scary that first day could be for a number of reasons. Maybe it was a new school, maybe you were wondering what friends you would have, or maybe you were just worried about how you would do. My students, along with many others this year, are going to be worried about a lot more than just that. Through all of their wonderful questions, excitement to build community, and learn, they also want to be safe. Being a Title I school, many of my students' families face financial insecurities and food insecurities. I do not want COVID-19 to be another worry. I am trying to get funding to keep our classroom safe and clean to prevent my students from getting sick. We need items such as masks for kids and possibly any adult visitors, as well as desk shields, hand sanitizer, tissues, and a no-touch forehead thermometer. Please help in any way you can to provide a safe classroom for my students!
