I find that often students are wary of reading in Spanish because they don't know what a word means. The selection of books and novels that I would like to have in the classroom library must have a glossary for new words, and they should be written with the intent for a second language reader to understand just what was happening. It is my goal to incorporate silent sustained reading with Comprehensible Input (CI) in my classes next year. In order to accomplish this task, I will need some help purchasing more short novels that are appropriate for high school students (nobody wants to read a baby book when you are fourteen!)
