These pens and canvases will help my students to be encouraged and uplifted during a time when many of them are feeling alone and isolated from their peers and teachers. Also, it's just a way to continue the tradition of combining arts and crafts and S.E.L. in my remote classroom. The theme this year is Resilience. We have already started talking about what that means, but now I want to know what does that look like for them. For each student is may look different. Students will create their art. Then we will come together and present and share to help continue to foster our community building which also helps with engagement and retention during this time when there are so many other things vying for their attention.
