Texts have the power to create opportunities for powerful conversations to take place in the classroom. I am asking for help in purchasing some new, culturally responsive texts for my classroom. Adding these texts to our library would go a long way in helping to represent the students present in my classroom and school. It is my hope that students would feel seen, heard, and valued as they are given the chance to read texts in our classroom that reflect their own culture and experiences and open their eyes to the culture and experiences of those who are different from themselves. Our class is also in desperate need of headphones since we are now required to use computers for so much of our learning! All other supplies such as paper and pens go directly to helping supply our classroom with the materials it needs. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
