First grade is all about learning to read! I am looking to provide my students with texts that are appropriate for their "just-right" reading levels. I follow a Reading Workshop model and my students have 10-12 books in their book boxes at a time. These books will allow them to pick from a variety of genres that they may be interested in. They will help my kiddos with fluency, comprehension, and the reading skills we practice in the classroom and virtually each day. Having books at their independent level will allow them to gain confidence in themselves as well as foster a love of reading!
