My students struggle with remote the remote-learning environment. Being educated remotely, they remain in their homes most of the day. This has a doubly negative effect. First, their attention is divided between my virtual lessons and their family (including other siblings learning remotely & folks having sometimes loud conversations or watching television). Second, they have little opportunity to engage with their peers in, often, teacher-centered lessons. A second screen will give me the ability to manage virtual classroom behavior while providing increased student interaction through “breakout rooms” with scaffolded projects and discussions.
