These materials will help pre-K students develop fine motor skills while they are learning virtually. It will give them a purpose to engage in learning how to write their names, and number recognition. Moreover, it will give them a chance to work independently at home during the pandemic crisis. The students that are in my virtual classroom are of low social-economic status and have little access to education tools. In addition, they are dual language learners and this makes their circumstances more difficult. It will provide them an opportunity that they otherwise won’t have. they can learn skills on how to hold the markers properly to write or draw. They can practice when they are not online at home. because they can practice with workbooks again and again. We are working virtually, so the children will be able to see me using the workbooks as we go. For example, before they trace the letters with the dry erase markers, we can trace the letters with our fingers. I will constantly check that they are tracing the letters correctly, so they don’t create bad habits in writing letters or numbers. We will start with number one and follow the directions of the arrows. while the children are tracing the alphabet, I will teach them how to trace and recognize capital and lower case letters. I will encourage them to say the letters and numbers aloud in English as they work. They will get used to saying the letters and numbers in English in sequences. I can also enforce as they progress the sounds of the letters. The connecting cubes can help them recognize number values as they trace numbers. Moreover, make patterns using different color cubes. They can also make measuring activities with the connecting cubes. Hope you acknowledge their needs.
