I work at a Title I school in California. Our school site is 98% free lunch and considered low income. I teach a fourth grade class with many highly motivated learners, and this year there is a composite of several English learners, students with special needs, and GATE learners. I anticipate an exciting school year working with my new group of diverse learners. They will have many wonderful lessons this year as they begin the introduction into the Common Core standards in all areas of instruction; especially with the focus into the subject areas of mathematics and science. With the kind support of the many individuals taking part in the revitalization of education in our country, our students should be guaranteed their place in the learning community.
