My goal as a teacher is that every child will leave my classroom with a new or stronger love of reading. The most important thing I can do is put high interest books in front of my students. I am looking for help getting these books to my kids. It is essential that students "see themselves in the books they read" as well as have access to a wide range of perspectives and life experiences. Literature has the ability to nurture respect, empathy, and acceptance among all students. Access to engaging and diverse books will help my students develop their love of reading, while fostering a sense of community and acceptance.
