As many of you know, we're still living in a pandemic, and many of my students do not have access to the public libraries near them. While my school offers a wonderful library, my English classroom could really use more recent titles to engage my 7th grade readers, as I require them to always have a free read book on hand. Once students finish their books, we give book talks, share ratings of these titles, and document "beautiful words" (our favorite quotes) from the pages. We will also complete a number of projects and activities based on the plot and characters of these novels as well! Our goal is to engage with a wide variety of texts throughout the year, and with your help, we can make that happen!
