My students do a lot of hands-on activities that will be sent home with them during online instruction. Color-coding is so important in helping them make connections between items. We practice a lot of life skills, e.g. learning community safety signs, how to fill out forms, community helpers, counting money, shopping, etc. Having them in color will give them a more realistic vision on how these things look in the real-world. Color coding also helps the to match letters to words, making sentences, matching content vocabulary words and doing file folder activities.
