I am requesting a reading rug. Reading books is a daily activity in first grade. Students need to have a place that is engaging and comfortable in order for them to listen and comprehend the material. A reading rug will help students to engage in their learning from somewhere other than their desk. We need a new place to have reading groups. What better place for reading groups than a reading rug! Reading groups on a reading rug will be able to help students refocus with a change of scenery. Please help me by creating a warm and welcoming environment in my classroom with our reading rug.
