As the title for this project suggests, our class population is highly energetic and thrives on hands-on projects. When I found out about DonorsChoose, I became especially excited because I knew exactly what could help our class maintain that excitement for learning. We desperately depend on manipulatives for addressing the needs of our kinesthetic learners, however, most of our students come from very humble backgrounds and cannot afford the materials required for the best learning experience. With things such as magnetic number bond boards, whiteboard markers, and the reusable fact family charts in this kit, our class should develop a much stronger grasp of number concepts such as composing and decomposing, fact families, and tangible modeling.
