For safety during this pandemic, students can't share materials, which is challenging for activities like hands-on science exploration, indoor recess, and art projects. The supplies in this project are going to be used to build individual kits for students to enjoy indoor recess activities that will still give them a sense of "playing with others", like having their own Battleship game board, and individual science and art materials for hands-on activities. These stressful times require innovation to ensure that students' emotional needs are taken care of, many of which involve play and exploration. After all, teachers can't teach the minds, unless they are able to reach the hearts of their students. Providing my students with supplies that help them feel like recess can still be fun and science can still be engaging is just a small part of giving them some sense of stability, normalcy, and enjoyment during this abnormal school year.
