We are learning full in person this year and with new safety protocols in place to keep us all healthy, we are not able to learn like we used to! We are not able to share materials, and movement is restricted during the day. My learners come to me with a history of behavioral and social emotional needs and require many sensory breaks throughout the day in order to be successful. My students come in everyday, ready to learn despite the challenges in their own lives, and the challenges we face during this pandemic. I am asking for supplies to help them do the best they can in our new situation. The headphones with microphone will allow them to share their ideas in a new way and not just on paper. The sensory manipulatives and wiggle cushions will help give them the sensory input they need throughout the day in order to learn, and since we can no longer share these materials, they will each have their own kit of sensory materials at their desks to use as needed. Lastly, the book bags and guided reading sets will help me to have enough materials for my readers, and can be used to send home appropriate reading materials for each child in the event of another school closure.
