The materials purchased for this project will be used to create a student-led business. Students will determine how much each item should cost in order to make a profit. They will have to solve many different calculations correctly in order for the business to be successful. Students will have to create order forms, keep inventory, create designs, and manufacture the products. This cash register will be used to document orders and help our students learn to keep accurate financial records. Money earned will go toward new supplies, in hopes that we can expand to different styles and items. This project gives the students a glimpse into the life of a business owner. It will teach them to be more responsible with their finances. They will experience varying careers by seeing the different responsibilities in just one business. Many skills learned will be necessary for life after high-school.
