The goal of this project is to create a calming environment for all of our students to utilize during times of distress. Self regulation is one of the main social-emotional goals for elementary students and often a struggle for children who have many stressors in their lives, which is often the case for students who attend our school. The items chosen for this project are specific to helping our students explore coping skills, learn through play, and work through hard-to-have feelings. Some items will be used to beautify a neglected space while others will be used hands-on by students to facilitate social-emotional wellness.

About my class
