I am always trying to diversify the book collection that I keep in my classroom. I would love to add more books to my collection that reflect the students in our school. I am also wanting to broaden their worldview and offer them a glimpse into the lives of others. With this project we can diversify our classroom selection while also supporting a wide range of authors, illustrators, and independent book stores. Every decision that we make has consequences and we want our students to feel that they are capable of social action on a variety of different levels. Purchasing books that matter is part of that process. All of the books that I have requested will contribute greatly to our classroom library and to our collection of diverse books. Thank you so much for any support you can give to this project!
