I hold a unique position as the Business Teacher in that I am charged with the task of preparing students for their lives after graduation through Career Prep, a graduation requirement, while also fostering an entrepreneurial spirit in various business education electives. To truly engage both the self-motivated and disengaged learners alike, learning must be authentic and meaningful. An opportunity to express creativity and develop desirable hard and soft skills sought by future employers, Glowforge projects will introduce cutting-edge technology to educate students in an Introduction to Business course about entrepreneurship and career pathways in IT, business, and community involvement as the culminating portion of the project has student sell their wares to the community at Winterfest or a designated spring event. Proceeds raised fund a designated local charity to foster an ethical sense of giving back.
