Having a place for students to comfortably learn and work quietly is really essential. My students sometimes struggle with sitting still for long periods or staying focused and sometimes need a calming place to cool down and take deep breaths or read a relaxing book. The flexible seating options will give students a way to get their wiggles out in a non disruptive style. If they do need some time away from the rest of the class, they can go to our reading corner--filled with diverse books and hopefully a lovely rug and bean bag! Here, they can collect themselves and calm down until they are ready to return to full group :) Help me make this reading corner a reality!
