Since I am a first year teacher, it is difficult to provide my students everything they need to be successful while learning at school and learning from home. COVID-19 has made this school year anything but normal, so I am trying to give my students a sense of normalcy. Due to being in a lower-income district, my goal is to provide my students with everything they would need for at home and at school to be successful through the ongoing spread of the virus. My class is very appreciative of the items they receive and treat them with care so that they last all year long. It is important for them to learn how to respect property and value things that have been given to them by somebody else. Kindergarteners can't learn everything on the computer. They need materials at home that they can use hands-on! The students will be so surprised to have new school supplies to use!
