My students are intensive needs students in a self-contained classroom. Some have physical disabilities, and extra time playing in a gym will help build muscle memory and social skills as well. My special needs students can use the sports equipment to help with balance, strength, and agility. They can't always fully participate in regular PE classes at the high school level, so time in the gym as a group will give them that extra space, security and slower pace that they need to acquire skills. Basketballs, soccer balls, dodge balls, volley balls, bell ball, grab-n-balls, hula hoops, jump ropes, and frisbees with mesh bags will give students time for fun skills building and bonding.
