To be neurodiverse means to navigate a world not built for you. Instead of using lungs and a tongue to shape words, these students will be able to point to pictures or words and speak through technology. By giving students who can not use their voice to communicate a means to engage with peers and teachers is to unlock a student's social and academic potential. There is no guarantee that AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) will work for everyone, but we won't know until we try. Please help me discover how to give these students a chance to talk.
