Third grade math builds upon skills learned in the first few years of elementary school. In order to be successful, students have to apply these foundational skills to grade level content. Many of my students have learning gaps in the area of math, and our school does not have the funding to provide classrooms with one to one technology. I currently have 2 iPads in my classroom that students use. Adding five more iPads to our classroom technology options would allow for more students to participate in research based math programs to help close mathematical gaps and grow mathematically. In a world that is technology driven, these iPads would allow students to have opportunities to individually grow. Our school has purchased research based math and other academic programs that track student progress and provide students with individualized instruction. My classes would benefit from the opportunity to participate in these programs throughout the week. The five iPads would make this goal a reality and enhance student learning in the classroom. I greatly appreciate your consideration to help my students have the best third grade math experience possible! They are our future!
