When students have great resources at their disposal they are more confident and motivated to learn. Many of my students are not privileged to have minimal resources to enhance their learning. I would like for my classroom to be a comfortable learning environment for my students. I would like for them to access materials that perhaps their families are unable to provide. When educators have resources available, teaching is more effective. I am always grateful to bring materials into my classroom even when I purchase them myself. Just as students are confident and motivated when they have what they need, so are teachers! I will use the seats in my Reading Corner. Some students prefer a more comfortable and relaxed area to read than the traditional desk. This area will also be used for small group activities during instruction. Students can collaborate and share ideas when assigned passages and questions to increase comprehension. I often create activities for hands-on instruction. The laminator will help me create hands-on activities for my students. Having the pointers for each child rather than using their fingers, will allow students ownership of their ideas as they are called to the front of the class to explain concepts to their peers while at the board. I believe this will increase students' confidence.
