My students come from a low economic area. Many do not have books to read and since they are only in school twice a week, I want to help them love to read. Many do not have books or materials to read when they are at home. When they come to school, they have little interest in starting a new book. If I had a larger library, or even something that interests them, I can have them take books home to read. My goal as a teacher is to teach them. If they are not able to continue their work at home, I feel like I'm failing them. I need help providing materials that will keep them interested in school.
