These books will be a wonderful addition to my classroom library. They will allow my students to travel to the continent of Africa without ever leaving their classroom. The students will be able to use this novel to explore the continent of Africa while developing empathy for the two characters the author writes about in the novel. They will also realize that what they often take for granted in their own lives, they really should be grateful for. A Long Walk to Water will teach my students many life lessons.
