Several of my students have trouble sitting for long periods of time and these desks would help them concentrate and complete their work. Studies have shown that physical discomfort can greatly affect academic performance. By allowing these students the opportunity to stand while they work, we will be helping them to maintain their focus and increase their scholastic performance. While it may only help a single student in a class, having these desks would keep them from feeling singled out as other students choose the option of standing to work.
