Given the present circumstances, I have found that teaching from a distance with students spread all around my room has been extremely difficult to hold their attention and get them to hear me clearly. One student asked, "Mrs. Soldner, why don't you get a microphone like our music teacher?" I told him, "That is a great idea!" Here is where the project began. The use of a microphone and speaker will help to keep my students engaged in our stories as if they are sitting right next to me. Not only will students be able to hear me more clearly through a mask, but I would also use it to allow students to be heard when sharing their writing or answers to questions. They will be so delighted to be heard throughout the room.
