In order for me to better reach my students on an individual level, I need for them to be able to listen to audio books that "speak" to their needs academically and culturally. The use of headphones is a great need in my English classroom due to the amount of individual reading that takes place. I have ELL students who learn better when read to in their native language and struggling students who comprehend more when read aloud to. When students are able to receive the individual help they need through audio books and text to speech features available online, they grow leaps and bounds.
