I currently only have one dictionary in my classroom. Due to the guidelines that keep our students safe, sharing dictionaries is not an option. I would like to have enough dictionaries for all of my students to have their own. Learning to use a dictionary is an important skill that will help our students expand their vocabulary. A wide vocabulary is one of the biggest assets a child can have that can help them across different subject areas. Using a dictionary helps students with concepts like spelling, word meaning, alphabetical order and finding word patterns. The dictionaries I am requesting are appropriate for first graders. The word choice is age appropriate and it includes pictures for our visual learners. Help me provide my students with their own kid-friendly dictionary.
