I want to give my students an accessible and equitable education regardless of background, socio-economic status or ability. I also want to teach them to make environmentally-friendly choices whenever possible. I have been reflecting on what I have learned as a teacher from this pandemic. One thing that it has brought to light is the gap in accessibility to educational resources between students of different backgrounds and situations. The chromebooks would be used with students that don't have their own laptops or technology. They could be checked out to students overnight as needed. On a more positive note, the pandemic has taught me that everything we do can made paperless if students have access to technology. I am ready to try having a paperless classroom, a more environmentally friendly option that I should model for my students as a science teacher.
