These latch hook kits will be introduced at school, and I will tell them about the Snoopy latch hook I made when I was in 4th grade! I will model how to latch hook, let them practice on mine, and have students begin their own in class. I have chosen different kits that will make the activity attractive to all students. They will take them home for a hands-on activity to do on their remote days. Normally I teach students to knit, but simply do not have time, and our social distancing protocols make it impossible, so HELLO LATCH-HOOK! I am confident that students will experience the satisfaction of an activity that is tech-free and requires patience and perseverance. This may lead to sewing, as they may want to transform these into pillows. It may also lead to designing their own latch-hook patterns. I have lots of yarn for students to pursue this extension. I'm am hoping this is the seed for future fiber and fabric crafters.
