The materials and supplies that I am requesting are for our buildings library- I am in the process of trying to change the library into a center that encourages reading and builds on imagination and creativity. The library should be the "heart" of the school and where everyone feels safe and welcomed. This project is to help get cozy, inviting materials for students to get lost in a book and to build on sensory needs for all. I have a large diverse group of students when it comes to their needs, and building a section with tactile materials, sensory fidgets, calming lights, seats, and selective personal space will make such a difference in so many of my students' daily lives. With all that is going on, the levels of anxiety and stress are through the roof right now. This project is so important to my students so they can read where they are comfortable.
