Since we are small school with limited resources, many of our literature readings are online. This presents a difficulty for our many rural students, who may have spotty internet at best. I would like to be able to provide every student with a copy of Toni Morrison's novel Beloved in my American Literature classes. Reading a deeply moving novel about the lives of African Americans will be an invaluable experience for these students in a county with 97% white population. Funding this project will allow them to unplug and immerse themselves in the novel without the distractions of an online device.

About my class
